VODA

Securing a flurry of media articles and consistently show up on LinkedIn

Quite simply, we LOVE VODA.

They are the LGBTQIA+ self-care app on a mission to provide inclusive mental health support to the underserved 1.2 billion LGBTQIA+ people across the globe.

Created by leading LGBTQIA+ psychotherapists, the app has a thriving community of 30k+ users and hundreds of gender, sexuality and relationship-diversity affirming resources.

In 2024, they announced their £275k angel round and they since kicked off their next round!

Ahead of their next fundraised they wanted to not only share VODA’s incredible tools, but also share Jaron’s personal co-founding story – as the reason for him starting VODA is deeply entangled with his own coming-out journey.

So as well as amplifying their work, we wanted to help Jaron find his voice as a thought leader in LGBTQIA+ mental health and tech.

Working collaboratively with VODA’s co-founder Jaron Soh, More Diverse Voices:

  • Hosted a weekly calls to discuss different pitch ideas and LinkedIn post topics – getting his thoughts from head to page and then from page into a journalist’s inbox.
  • If something didn’t quite land, we’d go back to the drawing board, refine and pitch again.
  • Tapped into Jaron’s media contacts (he already had some great relationships), as well as my own, to maximise reach.
  • Tweaked and refined pieces, advising on structure, and serving as an accountability partner to ensure LinkedIn posts were consistently going out.
  • Acted as a sounding board and helped Jaron improve his ideas, provide new perspectives and a sense-check
  • When big research pieces or funding announcements were on the horizon, we would craft them into press releases and guide the media strategy
  • 27 media articles in the likes of Metro, Forbes, Attitude, Yahoo, Pink News, HR Magazine
  • 5 thought leadership pieces penned by Jaron
  • A consistent LinkedIn presence, with several viral posts (many with 200+ likes / 100+ comments)
  • Increased app users
  • Boosted SEO and Google search visibility
  • New business and client opportunities
  • Guides you towards being a thought leader in your space

More Diverse Voices will help you understand what unique perspectives you have to offer and guide you towards being a thought leader in your space.

COGS AI

From no media presence to established thought leader ahead of first VC round

COGS AI is awesome.

They’re a government backed mental wellbeing startup for neurodiverse people, powered by AI and built by a neurodivergent team.

They’ve raised £650k, secured contracts with the NHS and are using AI & data to build an inclusive solution to a complex problem.

They are working to make the world a more inclusive place for the neurodivergent community and have an incredible story to tell.

COGS AI was doing really impactful work, but they weren’t talking about it. Even though they knew it was important, their small team didn’t have the capacity.

As a result, they we’re missing out on an opportunity to build their brand, attract new clients and reach potential investors.

Working collaboratively with COGS AI’s co-founder Zareen Ali, More Diverse Voices:

  • Established a thought leadership strategy for Zareen
  • Provided weekly communication coaching calls
  • Planned and pitched different ideas to media
  • Co-wrote thought leadership articles with Zareen
  • Drafted accompanying social media posts for any thought leadership article that we helped secure
  • X8 thought leadership articles or media mentions in Sifted, Maddyness and Startup Magazine
  • X2 awards – 1st place on TechRound’s BAME50 list and Natwest and Pioneers Post Wise100 List
  • X9 super engaging LinkedIn posts, several that achieved over 100+ likes
  • A boost in Zareen’s media confidence, leading to even more opportunity – talks, interviews, podcasts.
  • Published in big name publications in the startup scene

Bringing More Diverse Voices onboard was such a great decision. Emily feels like an extension of the team, understanding what we need and how to shape our media strategy to our objectives. Within a short space of time, we were published in big name publications in the startup scene, hitting our goals for the project and significantly increasing awareness of Cogs AI’s brand.
